I was at a lunch over the weekend and I wound up having a conversation with a kind gentleman. Now I can't recall how this conversation started or how it evolved, but he gave me a great quote. He said:
"If you think that education is expensive - try ignorance."
After that I scrambled for a cocktail napkin to write that down so I would remember to write it here.
Your growth as a sales professional and as a human being in general requires constant education. And while it is important to consistently increase your knowledge about your particular product or service, I think it is much more important to always be learning what makes you tick. You have to put time and effort and sometimes even money into figuring out how to FEEL outstanding. How to BELIEVE that you WILL succeed. How to KNOW that you are entitled to have anything that you want. From that frame of mind - everything else will fall into place.
As salespeople we fight uncertainty and objections. We fight doubt and fear. Any little thing can screw up our heads. It's going to happen. So the best thing that we can do is get ourselves back our track as soon as possible.
If you are looking for the best place to start - you should read - or re-read "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. Anything that has ever been created in the self-improvement industry started with this book.

Happy Selling!!!
